John Schroeter's work in marketing and communications was a crucial element in establishing Impinj's leadership position in pharmaceutical serialization [via RFID]. He demonstrated a unique ability to visualize the market opportunity despite conflicting regulatory and political agendas, and helped Impinj develop a successful marketing campaign to pharmaceutical companies and the regulators that oversee them. His marketing work is focused, results-driven, and success-oriented.

JAM principal John Schroeter has more than twenty years of experience in product and strategic marketing management in industries ranging from leading edge semiconductors to RFID communications to consumer magazines to advanced automotive technologies.

His first book, Surviving the ASIC Experience [Prentice Hall, 1992] put technology-oriented companies on the fast-track to designing new products in revolutionary ways. In the RFID space, his work has been published by every trade publication serving the industry.

His strategic marketing work in military & aerospace electronics sounded a clarion call to military procurement entities to beware of “sunset” technologies (those on the verge of obsolescence) designed into critical military systems, and to make the necessary changes in their product strategies before they created equipment crises [Military & Aerospace Electronics Vol. 4, No. 8].

In 1993, Schroeter launched, managed, and sold a successful new category in consumer periodicals when he was among the first to package an audio CD with a newsstand magazine. This now-classic example of guerilla marketing was rapidly imitated by numerous competing publishers.

Finally, his Special Ops Marketing program is a blueprint for raising the bar in pursuit of better marketing practices.

Little-known fact: Schroeter is an award-winning music producer and publisher, working with artists ranging from the multi-platinum P.O.D. to Paul Simon to virtuoso guitarists Phil Keaggy, Earl Klugh, Chet Atkins, and others. He is the author of the popular book, Between the Strings—the Secret Lives of Guitars, with introduction by BB King.
